How awesome is this easy rainbow dash cake?! You won’t believe how easy it was to make. My good friend Jill made it for her daughter’s birthday. She has a tradition of making her daughter’s birthday cakes, and she never fails at anything crafty! Anyone who has little girls knows who the ponies are, my nieces both love this show. I can’t wait to make this WITH them next time I go visit them, already on my to do list. Yes, I said WITH them and they are both under 5, because this is so easy you can do it with your little ones. Just have them stir while you add the food coloring. Perfect fun activity to do together.
- 1 Box Vanilla/White Cake Mix
- Food Coloring
- Rainbow Dash Pony
- Mini Marshmallows (optional)
When Jill told me how easy it was to make this cake, I was stunned! I have seen her make the layered cakes with icing in the middle before and you have to bake each cake layer/color separate which takes a lot more time. This one can be baked with all the layers at one time. First thing you’ll do is mix up the cake mix and separate into equal portions for the amount of colors you want, then add food coloring to each mixture until you get the colors you want. Next just start layering the cake mix colors in the pan one after another. Nothing complicated about that, right?! And you’ll bake it just as the directions on the box say since you are using the whole cake mix box. TA-DA! After the cake has cooled, ice it and you’re finished after adding the pony on top and the marshmallows if you want.
