You are going to love this cleaning hack for window tracks, it’s SO easy, you’d never imagine the tool used! My husband has been helping me clean while we get ready to welcome our first baby here in a few weeks. I always used the same method for cleaning window tracks…a wet paper towel or washcloth, scrub, get a new one or rinse, and repeat. Didn’t everyone?! I would never have thought to do something different and I was SO shocked and pleased when I saw what my husband decided to do when he was helping me clean.
Here’s a video that I took while he was cleaning because I was so excited and knew I had to share here for my lovely readers. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do. It’s SO fast and simple. Cleaning window tracks will never be the same in our household.

- Container with spout
- Soapy warm water
- Old toothbrush
- Wet/Dry Shop Vac
First, mix up the warm soapy water in the container with the spout. Trust me, you want to use a spout container (I used a large measuring cup) then insert the old toothbrush. Start on one side of the window track and pour in some water onto the track. Using the spout container should ensure it stays there and doesn’t drip down your wall. Make sure you don’t fill it will too much water though to where it would overflow. Next, scrub with the toothbrush really well in all places. Next, simply use the shop vac to suck up all the water and dirt at once. And viola, you have clean window tracks. If they are extremely dirty, you may have to do it again to get it all the way clean.
